Last week, we delivered an international youth exchange in Zreče, Slovenia, that brought together 25 young people and youth workers living in Tunisia, Slovenia, and Poland.
As a research and art institute, we design programmes that use arts-based methods to stimulate critical thinking and peer-to-peer learning.
Last week, we ran a one-week art-based programme focused on critical learning, youth activism, and feminist, decolonial values related to environmental awareness and ecological protection. We placed particular emphasis on practical green skills, responsible consumption, and sustainable choices - linking everyday practices to policy advocacy for a healthier planet.
We were inspired by the amazing participants and are grateful to our partners, Club Culturel Ali Belhouane Tunis (Tunisia), and Niemarudi Youth Centre (Poland), for their cooperation and for joining us on this inspirational journey and co-creating with us this programme.
By the end of the programme, participants co-created youth-to-youth learning tools (social media content, audiovisual materials, and podcasts) on environmental awareness, activism, and eco-friendly practices to support green choices and policy advocacy.
Throughout the exchange, themes of circular economy, peace, global justice, gender equality, anti-militarism, and responsible consumption (grounded in critical awareness) were present in the discussions and outcomes, combating greenwashing.
This was another manifestation of how our worlds and realities are interconnected beyond borders.
