End of a Year-Long Journey: Womxn to Womxn: Intercultural Forces

Last Friday was magical, a utopia we will keep in our hearts as motivation forever.

We have been asked several times how we manage to bring “all these people from totally different backgrounds” together in peace, joy, and friendship.

We often wonder - shouldn’t it be the opposite? Isn’t being too similar boring?

Fluidity and diversity are fundamental parts of our human existence.

People don’t hate; they just don’t know.

The social and public events we organize through Reka Si come from the faith and love for humanity that is rooted in our hearts.

We need more people to live to their full potential, to openly live and be who they truly are.

Peace comes when each one of us can be without fear and judgement.

We are so thankful for our colleagues and friends; without them, this great journey would not have been the same.

We are also grateful to the Minority Rights Group for believing in our Womxn to Womxn: Intercultural Forces, which was created and initiated by our collective of Arabic-speaking migrant and refugee womxn.

This process involved debunking stereotypes and celebrating the fluidity and diversity of human existence beyond borders.

This wonderful initiative has concluded after one year; however, we will continue by all means.

Reka Si is an intersectional feminist organization founded and led by migrant and refugee womxn, and The SIDE collective of migrant womxn - cooking and cleaning politics, culture, and arts.

We will continue because art is the power that connects, and connection means going through hard conversations hand in hand.

As someone once said, dialogue is not silence.

This performance was created and performed by Samar Zughool (she, her), Behnaz Aliesfahanipour, Manar Abed, and Rula Hummada, a testament to our shared artistic vision and collective strength.

We are so happy and proud of our community arts. Our art is the action of peace.
